At 80 years old, Sir Rod Stewart continues to captivate audiences worldwide, proving that age is no barrier to passion and performance. From receiving prestigious awards to embarking on a farewell tour, releasing a new album, and maintaining an intense fitness regimen, Stewart’s 2025 is nothing short of remarkable.

On May 26, 2025, Rod Stewart was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the American Music Awards (AMAs) in Las Vegas. The moment was made even more special as five of his eight children—Kimberly, Sean, Ruby, Renee, and Liam—surprised him on stage to present the award. Overwhelmed, Stewart expressed gratitude for his musical journey, which began in the early 1960s driven by pure passion for singing. He paid homage to influential artists like Sam Cooke, David Ruffin, and Muddy Waters. Stewart also delivered a heartfelt performance of his 1988 hit “Forever Young,” adding a new folk twist to the classic.

In celebration of his illustrious career, Stewart announced the release of Ultimate Hits, a comprehensive compilation album spanning over six decades of his music. Set to be released on June 27, 2025, just days before his performance at Glastonbury, the album will be available in various formats, including 2LP green vinyl, 1CD, 2CD deluxe edition, limited-edition cassette, and digital platforms.

Stewart embarked on his “One Last Time” tour, marking his final major international performances. The tour includes 48 shows across North America and Europe, with special guest appearances by Cheap Trick. Highlights include performances at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, the Glastonbury Festival’s coveted Sunday evening “Legends” slot on June 29, and various amphitheaters across the U.S..

Demonstrating his unwavering determination, Stewart revealed his goal to break the world record for sprinting in his age group. After a health scare in 2024, he adopted a rigorous fitness regimen, including sprinting on a private 100-meter track at his estate and underwater training to enhance lung capacity—a technique he credits to advice from Frank Sinatra.

Despite announcing a farewell tour, Stewart has no plans to retire from creating music. He shared that he is working on several projects, including a covers album, a country album, and a Faces reunion album. Stewart expressed his enduring passion for music, stating, “I just can’t stop”.

A devoted Celtic FC fan, Stewart was spotted enjoying a night out at The Atlantic Bar and Brasserie in Glasgow, following Celtic’s Scottish Cup final loss to Aberdeen. Maintaining a cheerful demeanor, he interacted warmly with fans and staff, showcasing his down-to-earth nature.
